South Lake Tahoe girls ask for community's help to keep others warm

Three South Lake Tahoe girls want to help those less fortunate this winter by helping keep them warm with donations from the community.

Maiella Riva, her sister Milan, and friend Lily Demus are collection warm gloves, socks and thermals for the Tahoe Warm Room, others in need in South Lake Tahoe and in Reno. The Riva girls got the idea from family friends who do comething similar in Reno so they want to donate a small percentage back to that project for inspiring them.

Their goal is get 50 items by December 16.

"You can help us reach our goal by please dropping one or more of the above items, new or gently used, in the box at the front office of South Tahoe Middle School, at Bijou Community School or in the labeled cans at 2235 Morro Drive, 2462 Alice Lake Road or 562 Tehema in South Lake Tahoe," said the girls.

Maiella and Lily attend South Tahoe Middle School, and Milan attends Bijou Community School.

"We are so grateful and thankful for your support" added the girls.
