Santa Train arrives this weekend!

Event Date:
December 10, 2016 - 10:00am

A holiday favorite, the Santa Train, is heading to the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City for two special weekends, December 10-11 and December 17-18.

Santa will join the museum crew on historic steam trains from the Virginia & Truckee Railway for 20 minutes trips where children can visit with Santa, write him a letter at a special table and receive candy canes.

The rides run every half hour from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each weekend.

The Friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum will sell raffle tickets for prizes to support year-round events. The Lazy Hog will be providing refreshments featuring their full menu during the weekend of December 10-11 and the Warren Engine Company will sell hot cocoa and other refreshments on December 17-18. Guests are also encouraged to stop in the museum’s Jacobsen Interpretive Center where holiday photos with the historic Inyo steam locomotive will be available for purchase. A separate admission applies to the center. Also, visit the Museum Store for great deals on holiday gifts for the whole family.

Santa Train tickets are $5 for all riders except children 2 and younger who are free when they sit on an adult’s lap.

Tickets can be purchased online for specific times. Go to the Nevada State Railroad Museum’s Facebook page (facebook.com/nsrmcc) and click on the “Get Tickets” tab. In addition, tickets will be also available for purchase before each ride.
