Few issues with well-behaved New Year's Eve crowds at Stateline

Overall, the New Year's crowds on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe were well behaved and there were no major issues for law enforcement on either side of the state line with a total of 24 arrests by those agencies over the weekend.

Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley said the crowd at Stateline was bigger this year than in the past two years. He attributed that to the new Tahoe Blue Event Center show as well as the nice weather.

South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) Lt. Scott Crivelli said that even with a large number of people in town, the crowds were well-behaved.

Between Friday and Sunday, SLTPD made 12 arrests:

DUIs: 5
Warrant arrests: 2
Illegal Camping: 1
Trespassing: 1
Public Intoxication: 1
Felony Domestic Violence: 1
Sexual Battery: 1

El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies in the Lake Tahoe area arrested a total of seven people over the same period.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office had 13 total arrests for New Year's Eve, five at Lake Tahoe and eight in the valley. They said they did not have any problems with the Excision concert at the Tahoe Blue Event Center.
