Public invited to 26th annual Operation Sierra Storm presentations

The Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority (LTVA) is inviting the public to free presentations on Americans' Indifference to Climate Change, and Tahoe Lake-wide Sustainability Plans during the 26th annual Operation Sierra Storm (OSS) on January 24.

LTVA will host national experts on major environmental issues at OSS, the annual television meteorologists’ conference at Lake Tahoe.

The effects of climate change on polar bears are drastic indeed – and the impact on people? What are the moral stories of climate change that tug at the emotions and address the concerns of the majority of people?

The lake-wide community is engaged to ensure and protect the area’s environmental and economic future. The movement has earned support among local residents, visitors authorities, ski resorts, governmental officials, and businesses. Hear from regional experts about the destination’s plans, and how it may serve as a national model for ski resorts. Q&A to follow.

Operation Sierra Storm, a leading national weather conference, is being held on the South Shore from Jan. 22-25, 2023. It is a cutting-edge meteorological forum and seminar for network television meteorologists from around the country. OSS features leading scientists and experts discussing newsworthy weather and science topics, and provides ongoing education, networking, and live broadcasts opportunities.
