Suspect in Douglas County Walmart armed robbery arrested

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) has arrested a suspect in the December 30, 2022 robbery at Walmart in northern Douglas County.

DCSO released a photo of the suspect and his vehicle on January 4 and leads from the public led them to Curtis Brahic in a motel room in Reno. Brahic was identified as the individual who had committed the robbery and was charged with armed robbery. He is currently in the Douglas County Jail with $25,000 bail.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank the public for their assistance in this case. It was a tip from a citizen that allowed deputies to identify and subsequently locate Brahic.

“With the help of the community, we were able to take a dangerous person off the streets and put him in jail where he deserves to be. Thank you,” said Sheriff Dan Coverley.

On Friday, December 30th, 2022 at approximately 10:40 p.m., DCSO says Brahic reached for a handgun that was underneath his jacket when confronted by Walmart Asset Protection (AP). AP believed the suspect had stolen items concealed in his sweatshirt. The male left the Walmart store located at 3770 U.S. Highway 395 (Carson City, Nevada) in a white hatchback (possibly a Nissan Versa) with unknown license plates.
