The following is the ski, snowboard and weather report for Wednesday, January 20, 2016 for South Lake Tahoe brought to you by Lake Tahoe SkiBum.

Weather - South Lake Tahoe will have a high of 46 and a low tonight of 23. Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming southeast in the evening.

Heavenly - Groomed. 5" New Snow in last 24 hours. 100% of their terrain is now open which means 4800 acres, 25 lifts and 97 runs are open. Base depth is 73". Lift status. Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Breezy, with a west wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Message from Heavenly: 5" of new snow fell over the mountain yesterday, and today is shaping up to be a beautiful spring like day with mostly sunny skies, and a high near 40°. There will be moderate-strong W winds, which should decrease this afternoon, but winds still might impact lift operations, so please stay tuned for updates. Weather permitting; 24 lifts will spin from 9:00 am-4:00 pm, granting access to 97 trails, of which nearly 50% were freshly groomed overnight. Our Groomer's trail picks of the day are Double Down Upper in CA and Cosmic Wave in NV. Please note that Mott and Groove lifts will not open until 10:00 am.

Sierra-at-Tahoe - Packed Powder. 6" new snow. 100% of the terrain is now open. 9 lifts are open. Five snow parks are open. Groomed conditions on 30 of their open 44 runs. Base depth is 60" to 104". Kirkwood - Packed Powder. 8" new snow. 54% of the mountain terrain is open with 1250 acres, 8 lifts and 38 runs. 88" base. Lift status. Mostly sunny, with a high near 40.
