South Tahoe High School Dance Team takes 1st place at Northern Nevada Cheer and Dance Invitational

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Tahoe High (STHS) Dance Team took top honors on Saturday at the Northern Nevada Cheer and Dance Invitational held at Damonte Ranch High School in Reno.

The team won first place in the Jazz Dance Category.

Leading the STHS team are coaches Kylee Finnegan, Ashley Smith, Izzy Preston, Bri Alamilla, and choreographer Ashley Smith.

It was a lot of hard work to take the top spot including weeks of 7 a.m. practices, said Coach Kylee.

The South Tahoe High Dance team: Mariana Alamilla, Porter Befu, Evelyn Bennett, Madison Cisneros, Jaretzy Contreras Herrera, Quinn Douglas, Sarah Goldberg, Katherine Hitchcock, Aubrey Iveland, Tegan Klem, Lyla Landy, Tamaya Morton, Bryant Pakes, Kayden Pakes, Kaylee Prather, Hailey Rossi, Makara Steeves, Natalia Ubias, and Erin Yamaoka.
