Brooke Laine appointed to South Lake Tahoe City Council

Brooke Laine was appointed to the South Lake Tahoe City Council on Tuesday to fill the seat vacated by former Mayor Claire Fortier.
The appointment was made during a special session of the South Lake Tahoe City Council. Laine will be sworn in Feb. 5 and will serve through December 2014. Nine had applied for the job.

The City Clerk’s Office accepted applications for an appointment to the City Council to fill the unexpired term

and received applications from the nine South Lake Tahoe residents who reside full time within city limits. City Council applicants were Howard Bittner, Kathay Lovell, Joan Walthall, Bruce Grego, Austin Sass, Billy Crawford, Scott Valentine and Kay Ogden.

Each candidate was interviewed at the Special City Council meeting this morning with Mayor Tom Davis participating via teleconference.
