Learn about the Eastern Sierra gold rush at Wylder Hotel Hope Valley

Wylder Hotel Hope Valley continues its Eastern Sierra History series on Saturday, February 5 with a stirring presentation, “Into the Jaws of Hell” by historian and author David Woodruff.
He will recount the dramatic and heroic tale, of how forlorn, starving and moribund argonauts found demise in the desert instead of the riches of the goldfields they had sought and christened the chilling name upon their near-fatal location, Death Valley.
The 50-minute presentation will be held inside the heated tent at Wylder Resort on Hwy 88, just one mile east of the junction of SR88/SR89 in Hope Valley. The program starts at 2:00 p.m., is free and open to the public.
