Event Date:
February 2, 2016 - 9:00am
The South Lake Tahoe City Council will vote on a recreation master plan during their February 2, 2016 meeting, as well as adoption of a City Business Plan, and a study session on a Long-Term Financial Planning and Community Investment Program.
After hearing from 1,333 people through community surveys and outreach meetings, a 105-page document will be presented to the Council outlining future recreation needs of the community and visitors. It includes strategies to work collaboratively to improve existing operations, services, and infrastructure, as well as to acquire and develop new parks and facilities when funding allows.
Over the next ten years, the master plan outlines what should be done including the maintenance, renewal and renovation of parks, recreation facilities, trails and other existing infrastructure; continued and improved collaboration between all entities including visitor services and play-field scheduling as well as creation of new trails with interpretive signage.
The Council meeting starts at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers at the South Lake Tahoe airport. It can also be followed live on-line and on some cable channels.
