El Dorado County vacation rental meeting rescheduled in South Lake Tahoe

Event Date:
March 3, 2018 (All day)

The location and time are yet unknown, but the date has been set for the next El Dorado County Board of Supervisor's meeting on a vacation rental ordinance.

March 3, 2018 is the rescheduled special board meeting that was postponed after their Feb. 1 meeting had to be shut down due to an overcapacity crowd wanted to participate.

Most likely the March 3 meeting will be at 1:00 p.m., and once a location that can safely accommodate 300 or more people can be secured it will be announced.

EDC Supervisor Sue Novasel, who represents the areas from Pollock Pines to Tahoe and South Lake Tahoe, has been cleared by the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) to participate in vacation rental discussions and decisions. Her husband deals in mortgage loans and some of his clients are home builders.

Novasel and fellow Supervisor Mike Ranalli make up the County's Vacation Home Rental ad hoc Committee. Their next meeting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 12 at the California Conservation Corps Tahoe Center in Meyers from 1:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The Committee, which has no policy-making authority but reports findings and provides recommendations to the Board of Supervisors, will review conceptual recommendations for changes to the current VHR ordinance in the unincorporated portion of El Dorado County.

The ad hoc Committee will also review the results of the Public Input Exercise conducted at the Board’s special February 1 meeting and listen to comments from the public.

At that meeting they will determine their next steps in the process.
