Several South Lake Tahoe students make it onto college honor rolls, dean's lists

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The following students from South Lake Tahoe have been named to their respective school's dean's lists and honor rolls. All names were shared by Merit Pages.

Tufts University recently announced the dean's list for the Fall 2021 semester. Among students earning dean's list honors was Charlotte Versavel of South Lake Tahoe. She is part of the Class of 2025. Dean's list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) announced that Aaron Vanzyl, of South Lake Tahoe, a member of the class of 2025 majoring in Computer Science (BS), was named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2021 semester. A total of 2,054 undergraduate students achieved the criteria required for WPI's fall 2021 Dean's List. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Tyler Dill of South Lake Tahoe was named to the Dean's List at Wilkes University for the fall 2021 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, students must obtain a minimum 3.5-grade point average and carry at least 12 credits.

The University of Rhode Island announced that Emma Osborne of South Lake Tahoe was named to the Fall 2021 Dean's List. More than 6,800 students were named to the Fall 2021 Dean's List, representing nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, and many other states and countries. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.

Melissa George of South Lake Tahoe was named to the fall 2021 quarter Dean's List at Palmer College of Chiropractic's West Campus in San Jose, Calif. Palmer College of Chiropractic, the first and largest college in the chiropractic profession, has campuses in Davenport, Iowa; San Jose, Calif.; and Port Orange, Fla.

Anna Moore of South Lake Tahoe is on the Fall 2021 Dean's List at Belmont University. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C. Approximately 50 percent of Belmont's 7,076 undergraduate students qualified for the Fall 2021 Dean's List. Belmont Provost Dr. Thomas Burns said, "Students achieving the Dean's List recognition at Belmont University are highly committed to success in their educational endeavors. They have clearly demonstrated a deep investment in their studies and in their future. We are thrilled to celebrate their hard work and know their continued, consistent and comprehensive dedication to their academic work will equip them to become what we call 'future shapers' at Belmont as they impact the world around them."

The University of Utah congratulates more than 9,600 students who were named to the Fall 2021 Dean's List. From South Lake Tahoe: Summer Furrer whose major is listed as Biology HBA, and Zyena Tolhurst whose major is listed as Theatre BA.

Marsha Monroe of South Lake Tahoe is among the students named to Emerson College's Dean's List for the Fall 2021 semester. The requirement to make Dean's List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester. Monroe is majoring in Creative Writing BFA and is a member of the Class of 2025.
