POSTPONED -- Burgers For Excursions moved to new date at Ernie's Coffee Shop

UPDATE: Due to the forecasted storm, Lake Tahoe Community College's TRiO Talent Search program has rescheduled its family-friendly dinner fundraiser at Ernie’s Coffee Shop. It will now be held on Tuesday, March 7 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Lake Tahoe Community College's TRiO Talent Search program, is holding a family-friendly dinner fundraiser at Ernie’s Coffee Shop.

TRiO serves 500 students currently attending South Tahoe Middle School, Mt. Tallac High School, and South Tahoe High School.

Tickets are available for $15 each and they include a burger, fries, and a drink. Simply visit the website below or use the QR code on our event flyer to purchase your tickets.

All proceeds will benefit the program's spring college field trip, where they will be taking 40 high school students to tour SDSU, San Diego Mesa College, UCLA, and USC. In addition, they have a fun STEM component to the Fleet Science Center and other exciting activities.

The purpose of the Talent Search is to identify students from disadvantaged backgrounds, who show the potential to succeed in college. It's all about encouraging students to pursue higher education by providing academic and financial counseling. TRIO” is not an acronym. Rather, it refers to the three original programs that were funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act - Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search, and Special Services (later named Student Support Services).
