Austin's House new Spring Forward Fundraiser

Event Date:
March 22, 2021 (All day)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Austin's House has had to reimagine their annual fundraiser. For this year's event they are hosting an online auction, the Spring Forward Fundraiser, the week of March 22-27, 2021. This new event will allow the community to purchase a virtual pass for $20, and bid on items from the comfort of their homes. Raffle tickets for additional prizes are also available.

Items featured in this year's fundraiser include hotel stays, golf packages, and gift cards to restaurants and shops in the Reno Tahoe area. To purchase your virtual pass, please visit this link: https://austinshousenv.org/springforward.

If not interested in purchasing a virtual pass, but would love to support the children of Austin's House, they are still accepting donations. They are looking for donations of art, jewelry, gift cards, or gift baskets to go in the auction and raffle. The final day that organizers will be accepting donated items will be March 5. If you have any items you'd like to donate, please send an email to marla@austinshousenv.org.

Austin’s House began with a desire to provide shelter and services for abused and neglected children in Douglas County. Because of the shortage of family foster homes in rural northern Nevada, children who were removed from their homes often had to leave their schools, extended families and community as well. In the late 1990s, several members of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Douglas County and other community members rallied together to bring the idea of a high-quality emergency shelter to serve the rural counties to fruition. Tahoe Douglas Rotary helped get the ball rolling with a donation and in September, 2007, they opened their doors.
