Letter to the Editor: Long-time admirer of Diane Feinstein appreciates her service

Dear Editor: As a long-time resident of South Lake Tahoe, a native San Franciscan, retired city chief executive, and good government advocate, I offer these comments to your readers and to Senator Feinstein.

I have long been an admirer of hers. I respect her instincts to always do what she believes is the right thing for the public good, with the politics of the matter being secondary. She has always demonstrated her care and concern for her constituents whether as Mayor or as a United States Senator. She has been a great friend of Lake Tahoe. She did an excellent job hiring staff who reflect her care and concern and who answer questions raised to her office.

I respect her very much and respect her decision to not seek another term in the U.S. Senate. I must say that she will be missed in the Senate as a sound, reasonable, collaborative, and ethical representative of the people of our State. I hope her example of leadership is followed by others.
