TahoeChamber Wins Award For Publications

TahoeChamber was recognized at the Western Association of Chamber Executives Conference in Los Angeles recently. The award was for their publication Tahoe Future Vision 2020 and for the bi-weekly e-newsletter.
The conference included chamber professionals from 18 western states and Canada.

The award celebrated TahoeChamber’s work representing business to government, promoting the community and political action utilizing Tahoe Future Vision 2020. TahoeChamber formed a Government Affairs Committee (GAC)in January 2013 and quickly moved into developing guiding principles for a cohesive vision. The GAC spent considerable time discussing and framing their answer to the question: “What is your vision for 2020?” Five

elements and strategies to achieve this vision were included in the Tahoe
Future Vision 2020 document. These elements included Economic Vitality,
Quality of Life, Sustainability, Infrastructure and Intellectual Capital.
This is the first document of its kind for the South Shore community that
includes a business-‐centric focus that contains a role for business, government and private citizens. Tahoe Future Vision 2020 is used to
determine whether TahoeChamber takes a position on issues and policies,
support of candidates and in communicating with elected officials.
