Best in the Basin nominations being accepted by TRPA

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) is accepting project nominations for its annual Best in Basin awards program through Saturday, March 31.

TRPA created the awards program as a way to recognize projects that demonstrate exceptional planning and design and compatibility with Lake Tahoe’s environment and communities.

The program has five award categories for projects completed in 2017: Building and general construction projects; water quality restoration and erosion control projects; defensible space and forest health projects; public and Environmental Improvement Program projects; and sustainability actions and projects. Projects must have been completed in 2017 to be eligible for an award.

If you are a Lake Tahoe resident interested in volunteering to help judge projects, please contact Tom Lotshaw, TRPA public information officer.

Best in Basin award winners will be recognized by the TRPA Governing Board. Past award winners, nomination forms, and more information about the Best in Basin awards program are available online at http://www.trpa.org/get-involved/best-in-basin/.
