Jazz guitar great Craig Chaquico to play at Hard Rock Lake Tahoe

Legendary guitarist, Craig Chaquico will make a stop at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe to perform his massive array of ‘70s rock, contemporary, new age jazz and blues guitar hits.

An original founding member of the multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated Jefferson Starship and Starship, from 1973 to 1990, Chaquico rocketed to music stardom as the band’s main songwriter and the only lead guitar player on all of its hit albums, including the iconic album, “Red Octopus,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 1975. Chaquico earned Guitar Player Magazine’s Readers Poll Award for “Best Pop Instrumental Guitarist.”

Chaquico's show will be in Vinyl at the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe on Saturday, March 7. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets start at $20 and on sale at www.HardRockCasinoLakeTahoe.com.

Chaquico’s music career has spanned five decades and has been as diverse as it has been successful. He received a Grammy nomination for “Best New Age” album for his 1994 CD, “Acoustic Planet,” as well as reaching No. 1 in Billboard Magazine and on national radio charts. Chaquico also earned a spot on JAZZIZ Magazine’s list of the “Top 100 Most Influential Jazz Guitarists of All Time.”

Audiences can expect to hear Chaquico’s rock and jazz favorites from his illustrious career, and music from his blues album, “Fire Red Moon,” which debuted at No. 15 on Billboard’s National Blues Chart in 2012.
