Snow Day Monday for Lake Tahoe Unified schools and Douglas County schools at the lake

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Unified School District has announced there will be no school on Monday, February 27. Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe will also be closed.

With heavy snow and forecasted blizzard conditions, the District wanted students and staff to remain safe and not on the roads of South Lake Tahoe.

They will continue monitoring the forecast and will provide an update Monday evening about school on Tuesday. The blizzard forecast is expected to end early Wednesday morning.

Zephyr Cove schools will be closed on Monday as well - George Whittell High School and Zephyr Cove Elementary.

Due to the impacts caused by current weather conditions, the following school sites in El Dorado County are also closed on Monday:

Black Oak Mine Unified School District - all sites
Camino Union School District - all sites
Gold Oak Union School District - all sites
El Dorado High School
Indian Diggings School District - all sites
Mother Lode Union School District - all sites
Pioneer Union School District - all sites
Placerville Union School District - all sites
Pollock Pines Elementary School District - all sites
Silver Fork School District - all sites
Union Mine High School
