Second Serving meal in South Lake Tahoe on Friday canceled due to blizzard forecast

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Bread & Broth Second Serving at the Lake Tahoe Presbyterian Church will be canceled on Friday, March 1 due to the current blizzard warning.

Organizers are concerned about the safety of guests and volunteers.

Normally, the Second Serving program serves soup and simple entrees meals at the church, 2733 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. every Friday throughout the year.

When food supplies are available, dinner guests are provided with food “giveaway” bags containing fruit, vegetables and breads/pastries.

Bread & Broth Monday Meal is still scheduled at this time for Monday, March 4 at St. Theresa Grace Hall, 1041 Lyons Ave., South Lake Tahoe from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. In addition to serving hot meals, the dinner guests are provided with food “giveaway” bags containing canned goods, fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy products (eggs, butter, and milk) and breads/pastries. ‘Seconds’ are offered and dinner “to go” containers are provided.
