Special meeting of Douglas County Board of County Commissioners postponed due to weather

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Due to predicted severe winter weather and hazardous driving conditions, the Douglas County Board of County Commissioners have postponed their special meeting originally planned for Friday, March 1, 2024.

In order to ensure maximum participation, the meeting will be rescheduled with a new date and time announced soon.

The only agenda item was discussion and possible action on the draft Strategic Plan for Douglas County. Discussion could have included a review of the Board of County Commissioners' Strategic Objectives and action

to provide direction to staff regarding possible revisions to the draft plan.

The National Weather Service is predicting heavy Sierra snow with blizzard conditions the evening of Thursday, February 29 through the evening of Saturday, March 2. Out of an abundance of caution, and to minimize the number of individuals on the road, the meeting has been postponed.
