21st annual Snowshoe Thompson Ski & Snowshoe Celebration rescheduled

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Due to the current snowstorm and hazardous roads, the Lake Tahoe Historical Society has postponed its 21st annual Snowshoe Thompson Ski & Snowshoe Celebration. Originally scheduled for March 3, it has been moved to Sunday, April 14.

Celebrate the history of one of the biggest legends of the Sierra Nevada from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This free event will be held in the History Complex, 3058 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.

They hope to be able to keep the lineup the same:
Snowshoe Thompson Chautauqua by local historian and author David Woodruff as Snowshoe and Gayle Woodruff as his wife, Agnes
Nordic Folk Dancing by the Sacramento Area Nordic Dancer
Historic longboards with Adam Henriques
Snowshoe Thompson Modern Day Endurance Athletes - -A presentation by Bob Crowley, Co-founder of History Expeditions on their March 6-10 100-mile expedition following Snowshoe's route.

Other Snowshoe Thompson partners:

Friends of Snowshoe Thompson, Alpine County Museum, El Dorado County Historical Museum, and Lake Tahoe Historical Society.

There will be Hot Chocolate, Coffee, and Cookies for a donation. Also, enjoy raffles, Snowshoe Thompson books, and merchandise for sale.
