Tahoe casinos "win" figure $18.2 million in January

Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $1,279,418,577 for January 2024, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board's monthly report released Thursday. This amounts to a .51 percent increase compared to the same month a year ago when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,272,953,912 *. For the fiscal year to date (since July), the gaming win has increased by 4.77 percent with $9,285,452,921 in "win".

The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.

For Lake Tahoe's south shore, the "win" revenue was $18,207,158, up 4.82 percent from January 2023's $17,369,547. For their fiscal year, revenue win is down by 4.25 percent as compared to the previous period. The South Shore fiscal year win to date is $153,744,615.

Last month, the "win" was also $18.2M.

On the south shore, $4,986,000 came from table games and $13,221,000 from slots.

Carson Valley area casinos reported a $10,390,593 gaming win, up 2.73 percent. On the North Shore, the reported gaming win of $2,242,483 was up 13.83 percent.

Casinos in Reno, Sparks, and other areas of Washoe County saw gaming-related revenue increase over the last year collectively by 35.44 percent with a "win" of $87,670,173.

Las Vegas/Clark County casinos had a "win" of $1,117,523,615, down 1.08 percent over the same month last year.

For the fiscal year to date, Nevada has collected $684,620,215 in percentage fees.
