Noboru Oishi, MD, 91, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on March 5, 2020, in South Lake Tahoe.
Originally from Kauai, Hawaii, Dr. Oishi first traveled to Lake Tahoe in 1979 and has made South Lake Tahoe his second home ever since. Noboru and his wife, Jeri, split their time between Tahoe and Texas. Besides being an oncologist, Dr. Oishi and Jeri owned the Enchanted Florist in South Lake Tahoe
The family is having a memorial in South Lake Tahoe on Saturday, March 7, followed at a future date by a funeral service in Texas with full military honors for his service in the Coast Guard.
Friends are welcome to attend Noboru’s local service Saturday, March 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Sierra Community Church, 1165 Sierra Blvd. with a reception to follow at the family home.
Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.
