Gene Bellisario ~ 1938 - 2022

Eugene Arthur Bellisario was born in Modesto, Calif. on November 20, 1938, to Ned and Norma Bellisario. he died unexpectedly on February 18, 2022, at Renown Hospital in Reno, Nev. with his family by his side. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy Bellisario, sons Scott and Brian, daughter-in-law Arnan Bains, his much-loved sister, Sharon Hossli, his 99-year-old mother-in-law, Lois Schuette, and many nieces and nephews.

Gene spent his early childhood in Caribou, Calif. where his dad worked for PG&E. The family moved to Yuba City, Calif. after the wars. Gene graduated from Yuba City High School in 1958 and Yuba College in 1961. Gene and Peggy were married in June of 1961. He started his career at the Credit Bureau of Yuba and Sutter Counties. In 1965 Gene was promoted to the manager of the Credit Bureau of South Lake Tahoe where they still have their family home.

Gene was very involved in their life at Tahoe. He was active in the chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and Kiwanis Club. He served on the committee to form the South Lake Tahoe Community College District and served on the Board of Trustees. He was so proud of how beautiful the college has become. He was also on the Tahoe Keys Beach and Harbor Association Board of Trustees until his passing.

Gene was again promoted to manage the Marysville office of the Retailers Credit Association in 1980 and the family relocated to Yuba City. In 1983, Gene and Peggy purchased and operated the Credit Bureau of Placer County where they both worked until they retired in 1997. While in Yuba City, Gene was very involved with the Beale Military Liaison Committee as an "Honorary Commander." He enjoyed socializing with the squadrons and hosting them and their families at Lake Tahoe.

Gene loved boating, traveling in their motorhome, causing and fishing. He loved to have a house full of family and friends visiting and traveling since retirement. We will miss his love, his laugh, the memories we made, and the life lessons that will stay with us always.
