TASK's March "Did You Know" campaign centered on conversations about drugs and alcohol

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The nonprofit, Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids (TASK) created a monthly "Did You Now" campaign at the beginning of this school year. There has been a different focus each month, and for March it focuses on drug and alcohol facts, resources, tools, and information on how to have conversations with kids about these things.

A few times a week during the month the group will share valuable resources and facts about drugs and alcohol, and about the use and misuse of substances on their social media platforms, and through their texting network.

FACT: In 2020, 76 percent of drug deaths in people ages 14-23 involved fentanyl. Drug overdose deaths in people ages 10-19 more than doubled from 2019 to 2021, with 84 percent of these deaths involving illicit fentanyl.
