After receiving several inquiries from Nevada residents about donation and fundraising solicitations from organizations, the Nevada Highway Patrol notes that it does not authorize any organizations to accept donations or conduct fundraising efforts on its behalf.
Trooper Barbara Stapleton reports that inquiries have been made about Nevada State Troopers Lodge and the American Association of State Troopers.
"Even though these organizations are legitimate groups the Nevada Highway Patrol does not authorize these or any organizations" to raise money on behalf of NHP, Stapleton said. "It is important to remember when you are donating to or participating in any sort of fundraiser that you research the organization and then make your decision accordingly."
