Event Date:
March 31, 2021 - 12:00pm

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) is holding a 12:00 p.m. webinar on March 31 that will focus on the use of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Register for the webinar, Implementing Tahoe Housing Solutions, here (https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_KdJoxIWlQ-aQLJ-O26j4wA). The webinar is scheduled for 45 minutes.

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), also known as mother-in-law apartments or secondary residences, were a common housing type in neighborhoods built between the 1920s and the 1950s. Generally zoned out by modern codes, ADUs are increasingly being looked to as a key element in addressing housing needs, and recent legislation in California requires cities and counties across the state to allow them. ADUs can provide additional housing opportunities on the smaller end of the size scale, and they can allow homeowners the flexibility to share independent living areas with family members and others.

Join the TRPA and local partners to discuss how proposed basin-wide ADU changes could help impact housing affordability and availability.

The Town of Truckee is developing its ADU plan so building can start this spring. For more information on their plan, visit https://www.townoftruckee.com/government/housing/accessory-dwelling-units.
