Edward Miller marks 39th year on Meeks Bay Fire Protection District Board

MEEKS BAY, Calif. - Thursday's Meeks Bay Fire Protection District board meeting marked Edward Miller's 39th year of serving the community, 37 of those years as the board president.

"Our District has gone thru many changes over half of my life," said Miller. "I’ve had the privilege of serving with many exemplary firefighters, officers, administrative staff and fellow directors. I thank the residents of the Meeks Bay Fire District for your confidence and support."

Miller, a Tahoma resident for the last 43 years, has volunteered for over three decades on the El Dorado County Civil Service Commission, been the public information officer for both the North Tahoe and Meeks Bay Fire Districts, a board member of Tahoe Women’s Services and executive director for the Tahoe City Downtown Association.

Edward and his wife Lolly moved from Cape Code to Carnelian Bay in 1976 where they rented a home before buying one in Tahoma. They moved to the North Shore along with a rush of other 30-year-olds who were all starting businesses. The Millers started Wild West Communications Group, a public relations, marketing, graphic design business. Edward also does voiceovers for radio.

Thank you for your service Edward!
