Collection of art books from the late David Foster to be featured at Friends of the Library sale

Event Date:
March 19, 2022 - 10:00am

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A selection of books from the family of South Lake Tahoe's illustrious artist David Foster will be featured at the Friends of the Library Book Sale on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Joanne Foster, David's widow, donated his collection of art books to be generously given away, at no cost, in an effort to share David's love of art.

"These books were working books," said Joanne. "There are many. David loved art history, his preparations lengthy and legendary. Often while lecturing in his art history classes he would refer to Rembrandt, Picasso, Michelangelo, and Leonardo as his 'friends.' Some of the books pertain to an art medium - sculpture, printmaking, painting, and drawing."

These treasured books need to get in the hands of those who love art and those who love books.

The book sale is from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the South Lake Tahoe Library Community Room. Friends of the Library members are invited at 9:00 a.m. The membership table will be open at that time to welcome new memberships and renewals.
