Snowy Easter Egg Hunt at Heavenly Village a success

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - One might have thought it was a Christmas celebration when Mother Nature put six inches of fresh snow on the ground for the sold-out Heavenly Village Easter Egg Hunt. Despite the snowy surprise, the fourth annual hunt was a big success, and spirits were not dampened.

Heavenly Village was transformed into a magical snowy adventure, combining the joy and colors of Easter with the enchanting beauty of winter. Families arrived wrapped in warm coats, boots and colorful scarves, their excitement undiminished by the cold, their breaths visible in the crisp morning air. Children, with baskets in hand, eagerly lined up, their eyes wide with wonder at the snow-covered village ready for exploration.

The event began with a welcome from organizers, who commended everyone's adventurous spirit in embracing the cold. The start of the hunt was met with cheers, as children five and under set off through the snow, leaving behind trails of tiny footprints as they searched for snow hidden cash, candy and toy filled eggs.

The snow became a canvas for the colorful eggs, which stood out in vibrant contrast, making them an exciting find for the children. The laughter and joyous shouts of children discovering eggs in the snow were heartwarming sights, truly capturing the spirit of the occasion, said organizers.

In addition to the $1000 egg hunt, the day was filled with snowy day activities that added to the festive atmosphere. Build a Bunny and Brunch with the Easter Bunny at Fire & Ice restaurant ensured that Easter was special for all. Of course the Easter Bunny made a special appearance, delighting the children with memorable photo opportunities.

"Today's extraordinary turnout in the snow is a testament to the strong community spirit and the allure of Heavenly Village as a center for family-friendly fun," said Gary Casteel Jr., president and CEO of TSI Investments/ Shops at Heavenly Village. "We are deeply grateful for the resilience and joy of all who joined us, making this snowy Easter Egg Hunt a uniquely wonderful experience."

The Shops at Heavenly Village extends gratitude to the volunteers Dana Nott, Courtney Thompson, Tyler Hanson, Douglas Williams, and Sun West Building Services - all instrumental in the success of the event.

"We are overwhelmed by the positive spirit and the joy this snowy Easter Egg Hunt brought to so many," said event coordinator Dreu Murin of Dreu Murin Productions. “Mr Casteel and I have said multiple times in the past, the show much go on! We live in a resort town, it's going to snow. It's part of the Tahoe experience! The snow added an unforgettable touch to this year's event, making it even more memorable for our valued locals and our highly appreciated visitors.”
