Spring Bounty fundraiser and film festival for Sierra Nevada Alliance

Event Date:
April 22, 2024 - 5:00pm

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Sierra Nevada Alliance will host a special Earth Day event to benefit conservation efforts in the Sierra Nevada on April 22 in the Grand Hall at the historic Valhalla. The Spring Bounty Dinner fundraiser starts at 5 p.m. and the evening will include live music, mingling, and refreshments in the bar, an Earth Day Fair with tabling by over 15 local organizations, and a silent auction featuring lots of great prizes from local ski resorts, hotels, and others. There will be a locally sourced, seated dinner prepared by Executive Chef Darren Weston, with special guest filmmaker Jessica Jane Robinson speaking about her new local film during dinner.

Following dinner, guests are invited to also attend the Wild and Scenic Film Festival On Tour at the Boathouse Theater from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. This event will feature a screening of the "best of fest" selection of films from the flagship festival, which takes place each year in Nevada City. The film portion of the evening will also include a raffle with great prizes, snacks by Chef Weston, beverages for purchase, and more.

For over 30 years the Alliance has been dedicated to conservation efforts throughout the region. Its vision is to see that every Sierra ecosystem and community is healthy, resilient, and collectively cared for through thriving partnerships as a legacy for future generations. This fundraiser event is one effective way for the public to engage with the alliance and support those efforts.

All are welcome.
