Liberty Utilities has had to de-energize underground lines in the South Lake Tahoe area so a damaged fire hydrant could be repaired by South Tahoe Public Utility District (STPUD).
Approximately 115 customers have been without power for the past couple of hours at the request of STPUD after a car ran into a fire hydrant and they had to get underground and repair it.
The hydrant is located on Friant Drive between Matheson Drive and Murietta Drive. All should be back on by 4:00 p.m. according to STPUD.
Once water crews are done the power will be restored.
