South Lake Tahoe meeting for those interested in the Civil Grand Jury in El Dorado County

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - Interested in being part of the Civil Grand Jury in El Dorado County or learning more about it? Join one of the upcoming informational sessions and get answers and ask questions after a brief presentation.

The Jury is comprised of 19 members from the public who serve for one year, from July 1 through June 30 of the following year. State law requires that applicants be a United States citizen, 18 years of age or older, of ordinary intelligence and good character, and a resident of El Dorado County for at least 1 year with a working knowledge of the English language.

This position is paid a stipend of $15 per day plus travel expenses. (See flyer here)

The informational meeting will cover:

What is the purpose of the Civil Grand Jury?
Who can apply to the Civil Grand Jury?
How does it work? Selection of issues, and inspections?
What happens with the Jury's findings/recommendations?
How to file a complaint for potential investigation?

Over the past two weeks, there have been presentations at west slope libraries and there is one left, in South Lake Tahoe at Supervisor Lane's office location on Thursday, April 20 - at 1:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.
