Tahoe Art League announces logo contest winners

The Tahoe Art League wishes to thank everyone who participated in their logo contest. They had entries from as far away as Finland and from people as young as 16! Judges said it was a tough decision. There were many very creative versions of the lake theme, painting/paintbrush themes, and even one wonderful entry that featured Tahoe Tesse!

"We were blown away by the talent and time invested," said Tahoe Art League President Rebecca Bryson.

During the league's open house, they had members and the public weigh in on the design choices. In the end, the design submitted by Scott Forrest and Eva Salyer was selected.

"We appreciated the unusual use of three boxes, the simple, elegant, hand-drawn trees that evoke Tahoe and our mountain culture, and the bold, vibrant, primary colors that can be changed with the seasons and/or by use," added Bryson.

In the end, the league was looking for a modern design that captured the diverse art scene here in South Lake Tahoe. They felt this logo concept embraced both Tahoe Art League's 50+ year history as well as the creativity of the growing art community here. The prize money will be split between the two and Scott will be donating his half to local children's arts programs. Thank you once again to all who participated.
