Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra celebrates 20th anniversary

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra celebrated its 20th anniversary of being a service club in South Lake Tahoe on Sunday, April 18, 2021.

The South Lake Tahoe Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #1632, assisted with the celebration by allowing the Tahoe Sierra Kiwanians use of their Eloise Avenue facility to welcome members, past members and guests. A small group of 18 showed up on a beautiful South Lake Tahoe spring day to introduce former ‘Charter’ members to the current membership.

Included in the attendees was the current Lt. Governor for Division 45 of the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha District, Christy Ramsey who hails from the Carson City area. Also attending were seven original ‘Charter’ members of the club as well as a member of the Lake Tahoe Aktion Club, Dennis Lahaderne. Two original members, who are no longer members of the club, who attended were Scott and Sheryl Ferguson, long time South Lake Tahoe locals.

Tri-tip was served along with a 20th Anniversary cake. Also celebrated was member George Alm's birthday. Alm is past club president and past division Lt. Governor and shares his birthday with the day the Kiwanis club was founded.

The Tahoe Sierra Kiwanians encourage anyone who may be interested in becoming a member to contact Cheryl Millham at 530-573-2273 for more information regarding the club and their activities. Happy 20th Anniversary Kiwanis.
