She Can STEM! event for 5th-8th grade girls at South Tahoe High School

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Girls in 5th-8th grade are invited to participate in She Can Stem! at South Tahoe High School on Sunday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Girls will learn more about STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) from women with careers in STEM. Dr. Jamie Orr, cofounder of Cowork Tahoe, Physics Professor Cathy Cox from Lake Tahoe Community College, Victoria Ortiz from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, and pediatrician Dr. Rita Wang will present and do activities with the girls.

This event is part of Erin Yamaoka's senior project.

There will be adult supervision at the event at all times. Snacks will be provided.

This event is free for all girls who attend and is an amazing, unique opportunity for girls interested in STEM or STEM careers! It will be held in South Tahoe High School’s Student Union.
