South Lake Tahoe forecast: Mostly sunny days with above normal temps to start the week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - High pressure will dominate and bring above normal temperatures through Wednesday. Rivers and streams will run faster as snow melts, but no flooding is expected. A low-pressure system will usher in breezy and cooler conditions for the last part of the week with an increasing potential for showers by Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

We have increased the threat of precipitation down to near Tahoe in the Sierra with. Snow levels will also fall and could drop to as low as 6000 feet if the colder/farther south solutions verify. We have also cooled temps a few degrees below average, but there is still a 10-15 degree spread.

Then, early next week temperatures will warm behind the wave for Monday, but beyond that there is considerable spread this morning, making determination uncertain at this time. It could be more seasonable with a few showers for the

former, or temperatures may warm back to well above average values.
