Go Fund Me account started for family of South Tahoe High student

A funeral was held Friday for Brianna Murillo, a student at South Tahoe High School. A fundraiser has been set up to help the family to help with funeral expenses and support during this difficult time.

Brianna's mother is a classroom aide at South Tahoe Middle School.

"We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and our thoughts and prayers are with Brianna's family and friends. Services were held today and we know that people are looking for ways to support Bri's family at this time. Please see this opportunity to help with funeral expenses. Any donations would be greatly appreciated," said Lake Tahoe Unified School District PIO Shannon Chandler in an email to staff.

The Go Fund Me account can be found here and organizers have a goal of raising $15,000: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-needed-for-brianna-murillo-funeral-expenses?utm_campaign=p_cp_url&ut...

Her Auntie Lorena wrote for the family:

Brianna was a caring, loving, and generous girl who had a lot of hopes and dreams ahead of her. She loved being around her family. Bri was artistic and you’d catch her listening to music and watching her anime shows. She was an incredibly smart young lady and loved playing video games. She was also an amazing cousin, daughter, sister, niece, and bestie. She lived with her mother and brother. Our lives are forever changed without her. She will be truly missed and always remembered. Prayers and donations of any amount would be much appreciated. It would mean a lot to her family during these hard times.
