Lake Tahoe Unified School District finally got word back from the State on their request to waive snow and flood days taken this winter.
The California Department of Education (CDE) granted five of the seven days applied for, making the last day of school Tuesday, June 20, 2017.
Each year, the District builds three provisional snow days into its academic calendar, a practice recommended by the CDE for districts residing in snow country. The District called eight total snow days this school year and five have been waived. The CDE is requiring that we exhaust the two unused provisional days left on our academic calendar (the snow day of March 6 caused the District to use one of the 3 days).
Graduation will still be on Friday, June 9, 2017 and 8th Grade Promotion will be on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Districtwide, schools will be updating their end-of-year calendars.
