Public invited to Fireside Chat with Snowshoe Thompson at Camp Richardson

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Historical Society is holding a Fireside Chat at the historic Camp Richardson hotel on Wednesday, May 11 at 6:00 p.m.

Join them at their spring meeting as they present Snowshoe Thompson in a Chautauqua performance by local historian David Woodruff. Meet the Norweigan immigrant who applied his skills on "snowshoes" used to deliver mail from Placerville to Genoa for nearly 20 years.

The suggested donation for non-members is $3, and members are free. Memberships will be available for purchase, starting at $20 a year for seniors, $25 for those under 60.

The hotel is located at 1900 Jameson Beach Road, South Lake Tahoe.

The History Museum and Bookstore reopen Saturday, May 7 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. They will be open on Saturdays through May, then Thursday-Saturday for the summer starting in June.
