Heavenly Village Brewfest set for June 19

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - COVID-19 has put the brakes on many fundraisers and group events, but as more get the vaccine and businesses start the process to get back to full capacity, events are also making a comeback.

One of those events returns in June. Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe is hosting its fourth Brewfest on June 19, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The cost is $30 per person which gives participants a wristband and commemorative glass to be filled up. A portion of the proceeds will go to support Christmas Cheer. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

Besides beer, there will be live music, spirits, kombucha, soda tasting, and live music in the Village.

The event has received its permit from the Alcohol Beverage Control Board (ABC) and will have to adhere to the California Department of Public Health guidelines at the time. There is still a mask mandate in South Lake Tahoe.

“I am just excited to bring back a crucial piece to fundraising for our local non-profits and provide a much-needed guest experience element to our visitors and locals," said organizer Dreu Murin of Dreu Murin Productions. "It’s time to safely get back to FUN on the South Shore.”

Over the history of the event, thousands of dollars have been raised for Christmas Cheer and allowed them to purchase turkeys, hams, and other food items, according to Murin.

“The lack of fundraising events has definitely hurt Christmas Cheer the past year and a half," said Christmas Cheer Board Member Tom Davis. "Dreu Murin, Gary Casteel, and the Village are such huge supporters of our group and we would really struggle without them."

“We are prepared to continue to follow all reasonable guidelines," said Gary Casteel, Jr., vice president of Trans Sierra Investments and The Shops at Heavenly Village. "We need to get back to helping folks in our community and that is achieved by getting our businesses back to 100 percent operations so they can re-hire all of their employees, which in turn will help and benefit our community and our non-profits.”
