Inaugural "Bikes for Kids" program in South Lake Tahoe

The South Lake Tahoe Fire Association and Police Officers Association have joined forces and will be giving away 25 bicycles to pre-selected youth on Saturday, May 19 at the Bijou Bike Park.
Along with a bike, the 25 youth will also receive bike helmets from the California Highway Patrol.
This is the first annual “Bikes for Kids” program that the fire and police agencies are hosting in partnership with the California Highway Patrol and the youth advocate for Lake Tahoe Unified School District.
During the event, which is from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the SLT Fire Association will be serving hot dogs, chips and drinks at no cost to all attendees.
