Sessions Salon celebrates moms with Princess and Queen day in South Lake Tahoe

Sessions held its first Princess and Queen (mommy and me) event in honor of Mother's Day on May 12, 2023, at the newly renovated Sessions Salon in South Lake Tahoe.

It was a fun collaboration with Ever After Productions, who debuted their new Princess Maribel from the Disney movie Encanto. Their owner Bekah Chance came as Princess Elsa. Local artist Charlotte Castillo and her amazing mother Wendy Stephens joined with creative princess face painting and jewels, hand-crafted jewelry, and beautiful hand-painted glassware/candle holders. Sessions was fortunate enough to have local mom and owner of Mi Cubanita jewelry, Jasmine Chavarri, to design "Mother & Me" bracelets for all the princesses and queens.

Over 40 moms and daughters got their hair styled, alloy crystal tiaras placed, glitter thrown, and enjoyed treats designed by Sessions' Nail Tech, Sherry Hawks. The endless mimosa bar for moms didn’t hurt while the little ones enjoyed a mocktail setup. Stylists Sabrina Trisler, Izzy Evans, and Oriana Stuart did an incredible job making all the princesses feel special.

This collaboration to make this event a success was more meaningful in that the owner of Sessions (Kelly Escobedo), owner of Ever After Productions (Bekah Chance), owner of Translations Designs (Charlotte Castillo), and Tanya Laugheed, salon owner of LT’s Studio in Rohnert Park, all went to school together through Lake Tahoe Unified School District. Their friendships go back over 20 years in the community.

The plan is to make this an annual event every Mother’s Day weekend and collaborate with even more local mom-run businesses.
