1,200 new American flags presented to Happy Homestead Cemetery

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - One thousand two hundred American flags were presented to Happy Homestead Cemetery Thursday by John Keeley and Troy Stromoen of the Rno Vet Center and Dan Browne of the Lake Tahoe Veterans Alliance.

These flags will be used to honor those who have fallen in service to the country, deceased Veterans, and living military veterans.

"The cost of freedom is steep, and all those who answered the call, a new flag will be placed where they now rest," said Dan Browne, president of the Lake Tahoe Veterans Alliance. "All gave some - some gave all."

"Happy Homestead Cemetery District appreciates all the work that Lake Tahoe Veteran Alliance does for the Veterans in the South Lake Tahoe Community, said Happy Homestead Cemetery District Manager Adria Nkala during the ceremony. "Please remember all those who served and all who paid the ultimate sacrifice."
