Bill David Russell ~ August 25, 1930 – March 20, 2021

Early Saturday morning on the first day of Spring our father, Bill David Russell, went home to his heavenly father and joined the love of his live, Ann Amelia Russell, who proceeded him in death 21 years earlier. He is survived by his three sons and their wives (Alan / Nancy, Gary / Marja and Steve / Donna), 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Bill was born to Harry and Katie (Hornbeck) Russell on Aug. 25, 1930 in Klamath Falls, OR. He was the youngest child in a family of 10 children (with 3 sets of twins). He is survived by his twin sister Belle Doris Johnson and her husband Cyrus (who was his dearest friend) in Anchorage, AK.

He lived his early years in Fort Klamath, OR. His father died when he was approx. 6 months old in a tree falling accident. His sister, Marie was a victim of a highly publicized murder at 17 years of age. His only brother was a P47 fighter pilot in WWII and died in battle over France in 1944. His mother raised her family alone after her husband’s death. He was from a family of survivors, a trait our father truly inherited. The most beloved trait of our father and mother were their unconditional love and dedication to their family.

Bill served in the National Guard in Klamath Falls. He learned the glass trade in the 50’s and eventually opened his first glass company (Russell Glass), and then expanded to Russell Glass and Millwork in Klamath Falls. He left Klamath Falls in 1969. Eventually he purchased South Shore Glass & Door in South Lake Tahoe in 1972. It is currently owned by his youngest son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Donna Russell.

Bill retired to Carson City and attended Mountain Vista Baptist Church. He loved playing golf and enjoyed woodworking.

He will be truly missed, but his family share the joy of knowing we will be reunited someday in heaven.
