100 Miles for Tahoe Virtual Challenge - Run, walk, bike during the month of June

The Tahoe Mountain Milers Running Club (TMMRC) is inviting the public to lace up your shoes and run/walk/hike during the month of June for the 100 Miles for Tahoe Virtual Challenge, a fundraiser benefiting the Tahoe Rim Trail Association.

Each year, TMMRC contributes part of the proceeds from races like Escape from Prison Hill to the TRTA, but these race, like so many others, are canceled for the time being. Still, running isn't canceled, and neither is the need for stewardship and maintenance of the Tahoe Rim Trail.

To register for the challenge itself, go to their website at tahoemtnmilers.org

About the Challenge:

This challenge is 100 percent free of cost. Anything you donate will go directly to TRTA.

Because this challenge is free, there is no race swag. Organizers will have some swag giveaways throughout the month, for categories such as "most miles completed", "best costume", "community service", and others.

The challenge starts on June 1 and runs to June 30, but participants can jump in at any time throughout the month.

Does 100 miles seem too little? Does it seem like too much? No worries. Set your own distance, one that fits your needs, personal and training goals, and lifestyle. Hike, run, jog, walk, or crawl towards your individual goals, but do it outdoors. No treadmills or ellipticals, please.

You can complete this challenge by yourself or as part of a team of up to three people. Each team member must register individually. Please pick a team name and use it to report team progress.

Once you've signed up, you will receive a link to the online form that you can use to report your miles and times. This is the only record we will have of your progress, so please save it for future reference.
