Kudos: Tahoe Coalition for Homeless thanks community

Dear Community,

Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless (TCH) would like to thank the many community members and volunteers who helped in the clean-up and closing of the South Lake Tahoe Warm Room in early May. The Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe arrived with their moving van and efficiently packed and moved our belongings into storage. Kim, William, and Lily Demus; Michelle, Brian, and Kelsey Hogan; Dave Huber; Matt, Miri, and Addie Lucksinger; Kathi Jensen; Guy Lease; Christine O'Farrell; and Randy Volgelgesang were all on hand to do the heavy lifting and moving.
We are also appreciative of the South Lake Tahoe Democrats for their support. Lisa and Kirk Gniazdowski , Brenda Knox, Jeni Norris, Rhoda Saponic and Liz Zapalac participated by cleaning the building, clearing items out, and washing large quantities of laundry.

The South Lake Tahoe Warm Room closed on April 30, 2017 for the season. TCH served 136 unduplicated individuals in the Warm Room and provided motel vouchers for 5 families with children under the age of 18 during our heavy winter season. We provided over 3700 shelter bed nights and our volunteers worked over 1600 hours.

In order to promote more awareness about individuals experiencing homelessness, Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless is planning an educational event, Faces of Homelessness, on October 26th at Valhalla Tahoe. Save the date!
TCH is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. Our mission is to meet the needs of our neighbors experiencing homelessness by providing warm beds and promoting community awareness. Donations are welcomed to aid in funding the Warm Room 2017/2018 season. Checks can be made payable Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless and mailed to PO Box 13514, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96151. Donations can also be made on our website at https://tahoehomeless.org.

Sincerely,
