Kudos: Forest Suites Resort sponsors Bread & Broth Adopt A Day of Nourishment

Every Monday evening from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Bread & Broth (B&B) provides a hot, nutritious, full-course meal to any community member who enters St. Theresa Church’s Grace Hall.
Funding for these hot dinners and the dairy products and fresh fruit that are included in the food giveaway bags comes from donations made to Bread & Broth’s General Fund and from B&B’s Adopt A Day of Nourishment (AAD) sponsorship donation fee of $350.
On Monday, May 27, Forest Suites Resort was the evening’s AAD sponsor, and their helpful, warm, and enthusiastic crew included Cordelia Hernandez, Travis Nielsen, Caitlin Thompson, Lazaro Torres, and David Tylenda. These AAD volunteers helped serve the 90 dinner guests a Memorial Day meal of BBQ pulled pork, BBQ beans with bacon, coleslaw, creamed corn, and watermelon and packed 20 meals “to go” for the diners to enjoy the meal for a second evening.
“It was truly an honor and a privilege that our team was welcomed with open arms and loving hearts. That we could all be together to help those in need and give a helping hand to our community,” shared Travis Nielsen. “There is a certain energy and warmth emanating from the many smiling faces that come through the door looking for a lovely meal and human kindness. To quote Charles Dickens, ‘No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.’ May we all continue to share the love and kindness to all.”
B&B not only has a fantastic volunteer base but the Adopt A Day sponsor crew members also bring a generosity of spirit that lightens the dinner event making the meal experience welcoming and inclusive for the dinner guests.
B&B would like to thank Forest Suites Resort for their sponsorship and for sending five fantastic team members to help B&B’s all-volunteer crew serve a much-needed and appreciated hot meal to help the dinner guests have a memorable Memorial Day.
