South Lake Tahoe Farm-to-Fork Festival discount tickets available

Celebrate all things local at Sample the Sierra on Sunday, September 6 at Bijou Community Park in South Lake Tahoe. Returning for its sixth year this Labor Day weekend, Sample the Sierra highlights the unique talent, heritage and bounty of the Sierra Nevada region with local food, wine, beer and spirits, as well as handmade art and music. Foodies, wine enthusiasts and hopheads have the opportunity to purchase discounted early bird tickets until August 1 to experience Lake Tahoe’s only farm-to-fork festival.

Vendors ranging from top local chefs to beloved Apple Hill producers and El Dorado wineries have participated in this one-of-a-kind festival that pairs farmers with chefs and chefs with wineries, breweries or distilleries. Festival goers will taste a wide range of what the Sierra Nevada has to offer while enjoying shopping, live music and the 4th annual Sierra Chef Challenge featuring regional chefs battling against one another in a rapid-fire cook-off.

Discounted early bird tickets are available online at www.samplethesierra.com until August 1. Discounted tickets are $30 per person for a full tasting ticket and $20 per person for an under 21 tasting ticket. On August 1, ticket prices go up to $40 per person for a full tasting ticket and $30 per person for an under 21 tasting ticket. A full tasting ticket to the festival includes samples of all participating booths. Under 21 tickets are available and exclude alcohol tasting. Children 3 years old and under are free.

Sample the Sierra is a collaborative effort on part of El Dorado County, Tahoe South and the Tahoe Chamber. This one-day festival focuses on geotourism in the Sierra Nevada with the goal to increase awareness of the region’s bounty, heritage, culture and activities.
